The 2016 presidential election is heating up between the Democratic nominee, Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton with Tim Kaine as her Vice President and the Republican nominee, Donald John Trump, Sr. with Mike Pence as his Vice President. Election day is on Tuesday, November 8th (less than two weeks away). There were three debates between the nominees were they got to answer tough questions and convince voters to choose them on election day. On the first debate, the candidates clashed on the economy, taxes and terrorism. The second debate had more tension because the candidates did not shake hands before the debate. By the third and final debate, Mrs. Clinton finished by talking about improving the lives of families and Mr. Trump finished by confirming that he would make America great again.

If Mr. Trump is elected on November 8th, he would be the oldest president to take office. He is currently 70 years and the current oldest president was Ronald Reagan. President Reagan was 69 years old when he took office. Hillary is currently 68 years old but turns 69 on the 26th of this month. If Mrs. Clinton is elected, she would be the first female president to take office.

The election for the President of the United States is very significant, not only for our country, but for the world. Our country needs a strong leader to stand up to all of the issues today. It may be difficult to choose a side, but the most important this is to have an opinion that is informed and based on conviction.
